| Been too quiet in here the last few days, so I thought I would post an update. Since picking up my 2000 SV650 (see other post in this section) I've been having a blast commuting to my job in B'Burg when it's not raining. I've also started the maintainance routine, changed the oil with immediate improvement last week; I had to order the air filter (which is now in), so this coming weekend I'll be tipping up the gas tank & changing out the air filter, the plugs and new coolant. I'm pretty much sticking to stock or OEM equivilents till I get a feel for what she needs, and till I can digest the wealth of info on the web and from folks like you all. I've also been eyeing the ugly rear fender on this thing and coming up with my own DIY fender elimination plan (suggestions welcome), also planning some winter maintainance, like new seals & oil in the front forks, & mmaaaaaybe replacing the exaust and rejetting (again suggs. welcome). Thanks fer listening. Ride On! | |

| Ok, so I spent all last weekend on the fender elimination and it looks good I must say. So this weekend I'll change the plugs & coolant; turns out the previous owner already installed a K&N filter so I returned the one I bought. I've gone a bit wild though ordering new handlebars (drag style- but not straight) & risers (+1") as well as a set of dropped foot pegs (-1") since I'm feeling a bit cramped the way it's set up (I'm 6' tall with a bit of limit in my left knee mobilty (from the wreck I had 21 yrs ago)). Oh well, the wife said I needed a hobby PS: I'll post some pictures soon.
