Tail

Ha! Got your attention didn't I?
Actually, I was wondering if here has ridden the 'Tail of the Dragon' at Deals Gap NC?
If so maybe some info could be usefull.
The guy I bought my SV from said his wife had ridden this bike on the 'Tail'.
I've been checking it out online and am thinking I might run it this fall sometime.

Looks like some of the surrounding roads are pretty good to ride without the Idjits & coppers, one inparticular is Rt 28 or AKA the "Moonshiner 28" then somewhere down there is the "Devils triangle". Anyhoot, I was just wondering if had been there & if it was worth the 3+ hour drive down.

It's worth it.

Middle of the week is a great time to go there, if you can get away. avoiding the weekends is best.

I know this is kind of an old topic, but not sure if you've made it down to the dragon yet. I rode it earlier in the year and if (liked mentioned earlier) watch out for the morons and keep it around the speed limit, it is very enjoyable. The best part about it to me is where they sit beside the road and snap pics as you go by that you can purchase online. I wouldn't mind going back for another go around myself.

Yeah, I've ridden it. Watch out for Tennessee State Patrol. Wrote me a nice ticket (53 in a 30) on my old '86 Goldwing. They weren't very nice but the ride was fantastice

I ride is every year! It's great and not dangerous at all. Just know your limits and have fun. If you're going to be cocky and be risky, that's when you get in trouble.
